On the windswept shores of east Scotland, lies the majestic town of St Andrews. Possessing a humble population of around 17,000 people, St Andrews is a small but exciting town! It is renowned for its amazing golf courses - attracting golfers around the globe. However, it offers so much more than just golf courses! This Scottish gem holds many unique destinations, rich history and a vibrant atmosphere.

1. St Andrews Cathedral
Whilst much of the Cathedral is ruins, the magnificence of this building withstands. Its sheer scale and intricate details are remarkable. Moreover, it is situated next to the coastline which provides many opportunities for some wonderful photos!
2. The Old Course
Even if you are not a big golfer, you are very much likely to still be impressed by this stunning golf course. It has been recognised as one of the most famous and beautiful golf courses in the world – and for good reason!
3. St Andrews Castle
Built in the late 100s, it is not too surprising to hear that much of the castle is in ruins. Despite this, it is one of the most popular tourist destinations because of its rich history and medieval look.
4. The West Sands Beach
Looking for somewhere to stretch of your legs? If so then there is no better place than the West Sands beach. The beach extends to nearly two miles in length and is extremely flat. This makes the beach fantastic for some lovely walks with the gorgeous scenery!
5. Botanic Gardens

The Botanic Gardens is a wonderful and relaxing place to ease your mind for the day. It’s magnificent range of plant collections provides for a place of relaxation and detox for the mind. It is nothing short of charming and makes for an excellent trip outside the town centre.
