Spooky events in Glasgow Halloween 2019

Updated: Mar 4, 2020

Hello!

Halloween is a funny one in Scotland. Some people love it, some people hate it. Here at Walking Tours in Glasgow, we love any excuse to celebrate a holiday (and eat sweets).

Every year, Glasgow delivers with some amazing events around Halloween. Here are our top picks for 2019.

1. Glasgow: The Dark Side walking tour @ Walking Tours in Glasgow

We couldn't make this list without our very own event. This year we're running a special one-off walking tour over four days around Halloween time. Come along to one of our tours in the evenings of 30th & 31st October and 1st & 2nd November to learn about the parts of Glasgow we don't always share on our regular tours. Not for the faint-hearted and not for children!

2. Quarantine @ Kellburn's Haunted Forest

Are you into wandering around dark forests, potentially running away from zombies on Halloween? If the answer is yes, don't miss out on this event. It looks terrifying enough from the website, so prepare to be scared!

3. The Witches of Pollok @ Pollok House

In the 17th century, the Witches of Pollok were burned at stake. Dare you step through the mist of the cauldron of time?Practical demonstrations and enthralling performances will whisk you back to the era when fear of witchcraft gripped the nation. If witchcraft intrigues you don't miss this one!

4. Paisley Halloween Festival

Running on the 25th & 26th October, this is an event for all the family. On the Saturday evening, see the spectacular carnival-style Dark Circus parade with more than 300 performers, led by a sinister Svengali ringleader and choreographed by internationally acclaimed outdoor performance specialists Cirque Bijou. See magnificent floats, giant puppets, voodoo acrobats, ferocious fire performers and curious creatures all parading along to thrilling live music.
