Five of the best restaurants in Birmingham

Emilija Morrison: Business Development Assistant

Birmingham is bursting with exciting restaurants to visit. There being so very many, it can be difficult to whittle it down to just a few. The city does, after all, contain five Michelin star restaurants. We’ve tried, however, to give a varied list – not just Michelin star winners. Read on to hear some of our favourite Birmingham restaurants!

1. Adams Restaurant

Drowning in accolades, including a Michelin star, Adam’s is a definite gem to visit. Here you’ll find many high-quality meals to choose from, including squab pigeon and goosnargh duck. This isn’t a place you can visit on a budget however – a three course lunch is as high as £45. Maybe the place to go if you feel like treating yourself, or for a special occasion.

2. Tattu Birmingham

Described as “a modern Chinese experience”, Tattu Birmingham is definitely one to add to the bucket-list. With a cherry blossoms ceiling, the restaurant is one that would look good on the Instagram feed. Moreover, the food here is delicious and there is a wide range of options to choose, from lobster to noodles. This one can be pretty pricey, so another one to visit on a special occasion. (It seems this one is particularly popular for a birthday celebration!)

3. Bar Estilo

Serving Spanish, Portuguese and Moroccan meals, this restaurant is a must-visit if you really want to feel as if you are abroad. The menu contains a scrumptious choice of tapas - there are vegetarian, vegan, meat and fish options. You’ll certainly find something for everyone here.

4. 670 grams

The restaurant is aiming to encourage younger people to go for fine-dining, so the restaurant has a very youthful feel to it. The menu hosts a range of innovative meals, all beautifully presented. Reviews to this place are incredibly complimentary, with one saying that the restaurant is "worth its weight in gold."

5. The Pig & Tail

Located in the Jewellery Quarter, the restaurant prides itself on being sustainable – ingredients come from within the British Isles and the induction cooking suite and heating system are powered by renewable electricity. Moreover, the place itself has a very friendly atmosphere to it and there is a wide range of delicacies to choose from on the menu, from burgers to mussels.
