Five of the best cafes in Leeds

Updated: May 2, 2022

Emilija Morrison: Business Development Assistant

We have thoroughly enjoyed spending the last few days blogging anything and everything to do with Leeds. From our favourite Leeds restaurants to our favourite things to do, we've loved delving into the city. Today, we focus on our favourite cafes in Leeds.

1. Flamingo's Coffee House Leeds

Opening at the end of 2018, this is Leeds's only late-night LGBTQ+ Coffee House. The menu is exciting, offering both breakfast and lunch. Their famous delicacy is, of course, the Flamingo - a pink hot chocolate with cream, strawberries and marshmallows.

Moreover, if you're single and queer, the coffee house even runs LGBT+ Speed Dating

Nights every so often.

2. Just Grand! Vintage Tearoom

Step back in time by visiting the Just Grand! Vintage Tearoom, located in the Victorian Arcade in Leeds City Centre. A haven for vintage lovers, the tearoom is decorated with old-fashioned accessories and photos of old film stars such as Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe.

3. The Tiled Hall Cafe

The decor to this cafe is stunning. Originally this used to be the main reading room of the city library, so no wonder it doesn't look like your typical cafe. Some visitors just go here to look at the decor of the place, rather than the food... (And we don't blame them!)

4. Le Chalet

Referred to on the website as "the home of happiness", this is the place to go if you want to feel as if you've just stepped into Paris. The place specialises in Parisian-themed meals and desserts. The restaurant makes everything fresh, making sure that customers are given the very best. The place also hosts various themed events, such as cheese nights every so often.

5. The Kitty Cafe

Of course, the main attraction here isn't the food - but rather the cats. The place aims to look after and provide a home for strays, rescue cats and cats with medical issues. Whilst enjoying a pizza or baked potato, you can watch Patch, Crinkle and the rest of the crew wander around and play in the cafe.
