Despite having previously lived in Leeds ten years, this tour explained in detail, streets I had walked down and buildings I’d passed without so much as a blink of an eye. Sarah our guide, took us on a riveting tour of Leeds City centre. Her stories brought grand buildings and people within them alive and she described the importance of the river Aire as a trading route. There’s much to learn going on Sarah’s tour, that you could easily apply to other cities’ history; she taught us how to look! It was a lovely way to meet my friend on a day out, before we had lunch. This was my first trip to Leeds but my friend had been before so we decided to take a walking tour to learn more about the city. We both learnt lots about the culture, history and architecture. There were some great tips about other places to visit and our guide was very knowledgeable. Absolutely recommend.

Our guide had a deep knowledge and love of everything Leeds, a warm and inviting manner, and an enthusiasm that was infectious. She brought Leeds’ Victorian age to life with vivid depictions of the economics, social constructs, politics, personalities, architecture and art that created and adorn the city today.
